Housing.com is an online E-commerce website which was started as a Mumbai based search portal. The company as named says — housing provides real estate properties to the customers all based on customers’ filters. The filter can be varied as per money, rooms, locations & much more. Later the company expanded their search portal to major metropolitan cities viz. Bangalore, Kolkata, Pune, Gurgaon, and Delhi. housing.com was founded by a group of IIT-Bombay students while being part of the Institution.

The idea behind starting housing.com Online Portal
The company was founded by 9 student’s passed/dropout from IIT-Bombay. Many of them are being dropped from the organization. They were searching for someplace to stay in. While they were struggling to get a place, they came up with an idea of opening an E-commerce website for people who can easily find real estate properties as per their convenience. Many of co-founder were having the link with students & faculty inside IIT-Bombay, thus got great help and networks to start working on this project.

How Rahul Yadav’s achieved fast success?
The website was launched in 2012, with just a domain and helpline number. With the help of funding from their partner companies, housing.com raised up to $2.5 Million by the end of 2013. This was a brilliant idea of starting such online business, as none of the real estate properties were sold online before. Another bonus point for the customers was right to choose the place, they always dreamed of. Also excluding all the middle agents, customers saved a significant amount of money. The website gave a power of choosing for the customer, the result depends on rooms, ratings, child friendliness index (CFI), and area-based price. Not just rooms were sold, but they also provided a room which was available as Paying Guest (PG). This gave housing.com a great boost to their sales.
In 2014, the company introduced a project which would showcase the 3D model of building for more comfort & satisfaction for the user before buying any property. These 3D models were superimposed with google maps as to make online for users. This all result in better customer satisfaction, with the help of such ideas company slowly started their expansion to all major cities in India and also achieving great success.
