1) Atal Bihari Vajpayee was born on December 25, 1924, in Gwalior.

2) By profession, he was a Politician but by the passion, he is still a poet, writer, and journalist.

Dr Shyama Prasad Mookerjee was protesting against the system who was carrying a permit for entering the state and “inferior” treatment of Indian citizen visiting Kashmir. He started the revolution in Kashmir because it was having a Muslim majority. Mookerjee fast ended in an identical manner and approved his protest. His protest brought integration of Kashmir with the Indian Union. But Mukherjee died after weeks of weakness, illness and confinement in jail. These events were an emotional moment for the young Vajpayee and whole India.

11) He served as an editor in the prestigious publication called Panchjanya (Hindi Weekly), Rashtradharma (Hindi Monthly), Dailies Veer Arjun and Swadesh.

12) In 1957, Vajpayee won his first election to parliament. He won at Balrampur Lok Sabha (parliamentary) in Uttar Pradesh in 1957.

13) Vajpayee was India’s external affairs minister under Prime Minister Morarji Desai government. He was the first leader to speak in Hindi in United Nation General Assembly in Hindi.

14) Undeterred by gathering birds of prey who blamed him for setting out on a misled visit to Pakistan in 1999. Vajpayee rode triumphantly into Lahore on board a transport. This activity was sought after by his successor Manmohan Singh.
